Audience Feedback

An audience is a group of people that experience your product. They are an important factor of success because the material provided needs to be tailored to their needs. In order to do so, you need to choose a certain demographic and research what products were most successful accordingly.

As part of our music video process, we need to think about the most suited content for our chosen product. Our music genre as 'Ceol' is indie and is aimed at a mature teenager to young adult demographic. Our task is to create a survey about music and ask a wide audience about their opinions. The aim is to observe whether a pattern emerges due to common factors such as age, hobbies, gender etc.

Here are some questions we could ask:

  1. Age
  2. Occupation
  3. Gender
  4. Ethnicity
  5. Hobbies
  6. Region (where are they from?)
We researched styles of questioning such as the difference between open and closed questions.
Open questions: A question which can have a detailed and elaborate answer- often an expression of opinion. E.g. What do you think of classical music? (A: I really enjoy it, it relaxes me/ I cannot stand it, it bores me)

Closed question: A question with only one definite answer- doesn't have much room to elaborate.
E.g. Is classical music your favourite genre? (A: Yes/ No
