My last two blog posts were the lyrics to two discarded song choices. The first choice is 'Hold Me Down' by Halsey. This song falls under the indie/electro genre and has a very distinct beat that would permit extremely sharp editing techniques. However, there isn't much possibility to create an interlink between the visuals and lyrics-Goodwin's theory- that isn't far too explicit. Furthermore, our aim is to deliver a message with our video and I don't feel like this song allows us to do so.
The second choice is 'Rotten Human' by Youth Lagoon. The lyrics to this song are extremely abstract and unique even without a video to accompany it. Not only would a narrative be close to impossible to create, there is a serious lack of material to generate a relationship between the visuals and lyrics. Furthermore, the beat of the song doesn't offer much inspiration towards slick editing techniques.
