As part of our genre research project, we decided to alter our search within the indie genre towards female artists. Thinking about our final music video, we found it difficult to find a female indie artist that would be suited to our group. Furthermore, we found that several of the indie artists were too mainstream- making them unsuitable to choose as our music video song. However, here are a few examples of female indie artists:
St Vincent (4AD Records)
Lykke Li (Atlantic Records)
Birdy (Warner Music Group)
Neko Case (ANTI- Records)
